INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

EnviroConsult personnel speak the language and have participated in projects in Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Costa Rica. We have successfully represented Canadian companies during issues scoping exercises, route and site selections, impact assessments, public consultation with landowners and regulators, indigenous and black communities, and minorities on projects related primarily to the petroleum industry. While abroad, we conduct ourselves in a professional and business like manner, and are sensitive to and embrace the many different corporate and national cultures. We fully understand the importance of providing good corporate representation.

NOVA Gas International Ltd. and PEMEX Exploration and Production, Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico
Conducted environmental work on the Atasta project in the States of Campeche and Tabasco Mexico. The Atasta project included development of a Mexican Legal Framework, an Environmental Evaluation, an Environmental Audit, components of a Restoration Measures Plan, and an Environmental Procedures Manual for their on shore and off shore oil and gas facilities. The purpose of these projects was to assist PEMEX with technical assistance, provide institutional strengthening and encourage technology transfer to improve their environmental practices and avoid possible disturbance to the sensitive marine and tidal lagoon systems.

NOVA Gas International Ltd. and PEMEX Exploration and Production, Villahermosa, Mexico
Completed an Environmental Audit of the PEMEX Luna Pipeline project in the Tabasco State of Mexico. The project involved determining the environmental legislative requirements for oil and gas transportation in Mexico, understanding the internal PEMEX management systems and procedures, gathering audit evidence, evaluating audit findings and compiling recommendations for potential improvements.

TransCanada Pipelines Ltd., Merida, Mexico Latin America
Prepared support materials to be used in the Public Consultation and Information Plan (PICP) for the Energía Mayakan Consortium Pipeline in the States of Tabasco, Chiapas, Campeche and Yucatán, Mexico for TransCanada Pipelines Ltd. Support Material Preparation included a Q&A questionnaire containing diverse pipeline-related issues such as Right-of-Way, Benefits, Employment Opportunities, Technical Characteristics, and Insurance. The Q&A provided an informative package for the provincial and municipal authorities, landowners and communities alike.

Canadian Energy Research Institute, Canadian International Development Agency, (CIDA) Bogotá Colombia South America
Assisted the Colombian Ministries of the Environment (MMA), Mines and Energy (MME), and the Interior (MI) and related and state-owned energy and mining corporations to develop and implement effective community participation programs. Workshops on Public Consultation and Participation were developed and presented in Spanish at the MMA office in Bogotá Colombia. The project included development of a set of guidelines and procedures for public consultation to be applied during the environmental review and approval process for hydrocarbon and mining sector development projects.

Nova Gas Transportadora de Chile, Santiago de Chile, South America
Project coordinated development of the EIA and EPP for the Region V Extension as part of the GasAndes Pipeline Project. Responsibilities included review and implementation of EPP measures compiled for the GasAndes pipeline, liaison with the local environmental consulting company, and the regulatory body Comisión Nacional de Medio Ambiente (CONAMA). Objectives of the project were to ensure the EIA respected CONAMA's newly developed environmental regulations, adequately addressed impacts, and that the proposed recommendations were acceptable and representative of Nova's high standard of excellence.

Mobil Natural Gas Inc., Kazakhstan, Russia
Developed an Environmental Protection Plan for the Tulpar Munai seismic project in Kazakhstan Russia for AGRA Earth & Environmental and Mobil Oil Ltd. The project involved reviewing translated Russian biophysical text and incorporating the information into project specification format. Winter construction methodologies were evaluated, and an Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Protection Plan of the seismic lines and camp site was conducted.
